UEFA hits Liverpool, Tottenham, Man City with fines for crowd disturbances

Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham have all been handed fines by UEFA’s disciplinary panel following crowd disturbances during European games.

The Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body ruled City would be fined 5,000 euro (£4270) after a pitch invasion during the Champions League tie against Paris St Germain at the Etihad Stadium on November 24.

Liverpool have been handed the same fine following a similar incident during their European tie against Porto at Anfield. The visitors, meanwhile, were sanctioned 45,000 euro (£35,500) for a late kick-off.

Tottenham have been fined 5,000 euro (£4270) following a pitch invasion during their home 3-2 Europa Conference League win over Vitesse on November 4, and also 2,750 euro (£2350) for the throwing of objects from the stands.

The Dutch side were fined 5,625 euro (£4,808) for the throwing of objects as well as 5,000 euro for crowd disturbances.

Scottish duo also hit

Scottish clubs Rangers and Celtic were also hit with fines from Europe’s governing body.

Celtic saw a fine imposed of 30,375 euro (£25,900) for the throwing of objects and 7,750 euro (£6,625) for the lighting of fireworks in the Europa League tie at Bayer Leverkusen on November 25.

Rangers have been fined 6,000 euro (£4270) for the throwing of objects during the 2-0 Europa League win over Sparta Prague at Ibrox.

The Republic of Ireland, meanwhile, were handed a 2,500 euro (£2,100) fine by the UEFA panel for a pitch invasion during the Under-21 fixture against Italy at the Tallaght Stadium in Dublin on November 12.
