Tottenham turn to Juventus deal, but transfer dependent on one condition
Tottenham have made an approach to Juventus for midfielder Weston McKennie, according to a report in Italy.
Spurs are interested in adding a winger to their squad in the final week of the transfer window and have turned to the USA international.
Adama Traore is another wideman of interest to Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo. Espirito Santo knows the former Barcelona man well from his time at Molineux, but Spurs’ first approach has been rejected.
The Times claims that Wolves have snubbed an opening loan, with an option to buy for the player.
Spurs are looking to accelerate talks, with the summer window closing on August 31. Their offer is said to include a £5m loan fee, with a view to making the deal permanent for £40m.
Wolves apparently want more than the £45m Liverpool paid for Diogo Jota and that has seemingly led them to McKennie.
Calciomercato.it report that Spurs director of football is very keen on a move for 22-year-old McKennie. Again Spurs are chasing an initial loan deal with an option to buy the player.
Juve though are pushing for a permanent deal with Max Allegri open to the player’s sale.
The versatile McKennie was one of Juve’s better performers last season, with 46 appearances and six goals to his name. Allegri though will allow him to leave as long as the Serie A club get the right price for him.
Aston Villa are also understood to be rivalling Spurs for McKennie as they look for a replacement for Jack Grealish, according to Calciomercato.com.

Levy playing hardball over Kane
Meanwhile, Spurs are growing in confidence that Harry Kane will remain with the club this summer – with Daniel Levy refusing to drop even a penny below his £150m valuation of the England captain.
Tottenham supremo Levy has stood firm in his desire to retain Kane. Indeed, in the face of his £150m asking price, City have reportedly tried all manner of offers.
Indeed, City have seen multiple efforts to persuade Levy to sell Kane fail. These range from a straight £100m bid to a plethora of raised offers, which include a chance to sign some unwanted City stars.
Earlier this week, the Daily Telegraph claimed City will launch one final attempt to twist Levy’s arm over Kane this week. And should that fail, they seemingly already have another target in mind.
And with time now running out, the Daily Mail reports that Spurs believe they are ‘winning the battle’ to keep their star striker.
Tellingly, Levy’s determination to keep Kane in north London ‘has not wavered’. In addition, they state he is ‘more determined than ever’ to fend off City’s efforts.
It’s also stated that Tottenham now feel a transfer away for Kane to City or any other club is ‘virtually impossible’ this summer.
Indeed, the Mail also states that City’s offer for Kane is far below what has previously been reported.
