Tottenham striker admits his future at the club is uncertain
Tottenham secured the promising young forward Alejo Veliz in the summer, signing him from Rosario Central on a six-year deal for a reported fee of around €15 million.
Despite making eight appearances in the English top flight this season, Veliz saw limited action on the pitch, accumulating only 42 minutes of playing time.
In a bid to aid his development, the club opted to loan Veliz to Sevilla for the remainder of the season.
With Sevilla set to face Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday, the Argentine striker is eager to make an impact in the fixture.
In an interview with news outlet AS (via Sport Witness) ahead of the clash, Veliz offered ambiguous comments regarding his future.
When asked about the possibility of staying at Sevilla beyond this season, Veliz remained uncertain, stating, “I don’t know what will happen. If I stay, time will tell. To start with, Sevilla and their fans must be happy with me because I’m delighted to have come here and I hope that many good things will happen.”
Alejo Veliz made several first-team appearances off the bench before being loaned out
Veliz’s loan move to Sevilla follows a similar path taken by former Tottenham winger Bryan Gil, who also joined Sevilla on loan last winter.
With his undeniable talent and potential, Veliz has the opportunity to make a significant impact at Sevilla.
Whether he returns to Spurs in a bid to establish himself in the first-team or decides to make a permanent move away remains to be seen.
