Tottenham ease past Pacos de Ferreira with help of Harry Kane brace
Harry Kane scored two goals on his Tottenham return as Nuno Espirito Santo’s men ran out 3-0 winners against Pacos de Ferreira.
The north London side reached the next stage of the inaugural Europa Conference League, overcoming a 1-0 defeat in Portugal in the first leg. Kane had a great chance to score in the first minute as he went through on goal. He slipped at the vital moment and sent his effort just over.
Just eight minutes later, the England captain got off the mark for the new campaign. He took a nice touch from a Bryan Gil cross before placing the ball into the bottom corner.
Spurs continued to threaten and hit the post through Gil not long afterwards. His shot took a big deflection which wrong-footed the keeper, only to hit the outside of the woodwork and go out for a corner.
Kane put Spurs in front on aggregate in the 34th minute. Giovani Lo Celso did well to salvage the chance after Kane’s shot was blocked. The ball fell into the path of Kane, who confidently dispatched for his second of the night.
The Premier League side then went 3-0 up thanks to an own goal. Lo Celso whipped in a free-kick which was headed into the net by Vitorino Antunes.
