One facet of Man Utd man’s game is so poor ‘he wouldn’t get a game in League Two’
Former England international Michael Gray says that one Manchester United man is so poor in possession that “he wouldn’t get a game in League Two”.
Gray has launched an astonishing attack on United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has been an ever-present for United in the Premier League this season.
The 23-year-old is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-choice right-back and he has played every minute of the Premier League season to date.
The former Crystal Palace was sent off in the recent Champions League defeat by Young Boys and Gray has questioned his quality on the ball.
United suffered their first league defeat of the season on Saturday after Kortney Hause headed home from a corner in the 88th minute.
Bruno Fernandes then blasted a penalty high over the bar as Villa grabbed their first win over United in the Premier League since December 12, 2009.
“As soon as Luke Shaw went off the field, their attacking threat down the left completely went,” Gray told talkSPORT.
“This squad, when it’s depleted, still isn’t up there with the best in the Premier League.
“Wan-Bissaka, he’s the best defender in the Premier League in a one vs one situation, but his distribution with the ball, with the ball at his feet he wouldn’t get a game in League Two. When I watch him play, he never looks comfortable with the ball at his feet.
“I don’t feel confident at all, I don’t think he does either. Defensively he’s absolutely outstanding. Harry Maguire is another I could criticise with the ball back to David De Gea yesterday, he makes mistakes, he made one at Newcastle too.
“They’ve got big problems do Manchester United, I know they’ve started the season well but I think yesterday the cracks started to appear.”

Ole blamed astroturf for Wan-Bissaka red card
Solskjaer defended Wan-Bissaka earlier this month after his red card in Switzerland.
The 2-1 defeat to Young Boys undoubtedly swung on Wan-Bissaka’s red card, and Solskjaer offered a surprise justification for his dismissal.
Hinting the astroturf pitch caused Wan-Bissaka’s touch to evade him, Solskjaer said of the incident: “That’s a little bit the astroturf.
“Aaron gets a touch that’s too far and he gets the ball but he follows through.
“It’s hard to argue against the referee but then he didn’t go through his ankle, he hit him on the top of his foot.”
