Mendes working on triple Tottenham deadline day deal with £50m headline capture
Adama Traore is pushing for a move from Wolves to Tottenham Hotspur and could be one of three deadline day signings, according to reports.
Former Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo took the Tottenham job this summer. Ever since, several players have been tipped to follow him. As the deadline approaches, all of Tottenham’s signings so far have come from elsewhere. But Traore remains on their agenda for the final day of the transfer window.
Over the weekend, it was claimed that Traore was instructing his agent Jorge Mendes to facilitate a transfer to Tottenham. Time is running out for him to meet that objective, but work is underway.
According to The Athletic, a transfer away from Wolves is unlikely for Traore. However, if Tottenham can make a £50m bid, the situation may change.
Elsewhere, Football Insider insist Tottenham are trying to sign the winger. They claim talks have been held over various structures of a deal.
While Wolves will not let Traore leave on loan, they could consider doing so if an obligation to buy is inserted. Alternatively, they would be content with a permanent offer if it meets their valuation.
But that valuation is high, so Tottenham must consider how much Traore is worth it.
Meanwhile, Mendes is trying to orchestrate two other transfers to Tottenham for other clients to bolster the squad of Nuno, whom he also represents.

According to Football Insider, he is also negotiating deals for Granada centre-back Domingos Duarte and Sporting CP midfielder Joao Palhinha.
Duarte emerged as a Tottenham target recently, potentially in a low-cost transfer. It appears he is more expensive than they thought, but perhaps still within reach.
Tottenham have wanted to make two centre-back signings all summer. So far, the only to arrive has been Cristian Romero.
Then, in midfield, Palhinha has been heavily linked with a move to north London this summer. With Moussa Sissoko having departed and Tanguy Ndombele not in Nuno’s plans, signing a player he trusts more would be useful.
However, the report does add that of the three, Traore seems the most likely player to sign. And given the indications elsewhere, even that is not a given.
But if Tottenham can pull off multiple deals before the deadline, it would be an impressive end to Fabio Paratici’s first window as managing director.
In addition to Romero, their other summer signings have been goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini and attacking midfielder Bryan Gil. They are also reportedly making progress over the signing Barcelona full-back Emerson Royal.
Keeping star striker Harry Kane away from Manchester City could be their most important piece of business, though.
