Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City rubbing their hands as Real Madrid write off Haaland
Real Madrid have reportedly written off their hopes of signing Erling Haaland and believe the prolific Norway striker is heading to the Premier League.
Haaland’s future is under the microscope despite the striker currently being on the sidelines through injury. His phenomenal goals record over the last few years has had Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Madrid on alert. But in a huge boost to the English trio, Real Madrid have “accepted Haaland is going to the Premier League”.
The LaLiga giants were hoping to lure the Borussia Dortmund attacker, whose release clause is set at £64m next summer, to Spain.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez had previously stated he wanted to sign both Haaland and Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.
He said: “Which one do I choose to build a new project? I take both without a doubt.
“At Real Madrid, there are always the best players in the world. Florentino will bring them both back.”
But they will now focus their attention fully on signing Mbappe on a free transfer.
Sport journalist Josep Pedrerol says: “Real Madrid assumes that Haaland will play in England next year and they have it ruled out.”
Haaland, 21, has scored 13 goals in just 10 appearances for Dortmund so far this season.
However, the forward, who scored 41 goals last season, is currently out of action through injury.
The Dortmund star has been missing since the 4-0 battering defeat to Ajax in the Champions League last month.
And Alf-Inge told Norwegian channel TV 2: “He’s doing relatively well considering the situation, but he’ll be out for a little while.

Dortmund offer
“It would be a bonus if he gets some games before Christmas, but it’s rather unlikely.”
Dortmund have not given up all hope of keeping their talisman.
According to Bild, Dortmund are ready to offer Haaland a new contract that would make him the highest paid player in their history. In doing so, they would also remove the release clause that does not reflect his true value.
However, it all hinges on sponsorship. Dortmund would only be able to finance the move if Haaland changed his personal supplier from Nike to Puma.
Puma are Dortmund’s outfitters and could help them keep Haaland with a deal to incorporate the star.
The club may then be able to offer Haaland a salary of between €16m and €18m per season. It would not meet the €30m benchmark he is seeking, but would be a record outlay for BVB.
