‘Frustrated’ Arsenal star wanted by multiple clubs ready to quit Gunners
Arsenal know they cannot keep a goalkeeper of Aaron Ramsdale’s quality on the bench for very long.
The English keeper, who was signed from Sheffield United by Mikel Arteta nearly three years ago, became an instant hit at the Emirates.
However, despite cementing his place as the Gunners’ outright number one, fans were left stunned when Arteta recruited David Raya from Brentford last summer.
The Spanish goalkeeper has since become the Londoners’ number one, leaving Ramsdale, 25, out in the cold and forced to play a backup role.
Arsenal transfer news: Aaron Ramsdale wants to quit Gunners in summer
Consequently, according to a recent report from Football Insider, following his very public demotion, Ramsdale has been left ‘frustrated’ and is now hoping to leave the club in the summer.
Aaron Ramsdale has lost his Arsenal place to David Raya.
Multiple clubs, both home and abroad, are thought to be tracking the 25-year-old with rivals Chelsea one of the sides mostly heavily linked (HITC).
Nevertheless, despite having up to three-and-a-half years left on his deal, Arteta will be wary of keeping the goalkeeper against his wishes out of fear of unsettling the squad, so a summer transfer for their former number one seems an increasingly likely outcome.
During his time with Arsenal, Ramsdale, who has been capped four times for England, has kept 32 clean sheets in 88 games in all competitions.
