Former Barcelona manager spotted at Anfield watching Liverpool vs Luton

After going a goal down against Luton Town at Anfield, Liverpool scored four goals to win the match 4-1.

Goals from Virgil Van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz and Harvey Elliott kept Liverpool at the top of the Premier League standings.

It was also another match in which the Anfield crowd was very important. There was a unique vibe in the stadium during the second half as the Liverpool fans seemed to come alive. The type of environment that spurred the players to four goals in the second half.

Jurgen Klopp was impressed with the performance of his players considering the injury crisis at Liverpool. Another manager that would have been impressed by the performance at Anfield was former Barcelona manager and current Holland manager Ronald Koeman.

During the match, the TV broadcast saw Ronald Koeman, the former manager of Everton, in the Anfield crowd. It may have seemed odd at first to see Koeman in the televised footage.

Pretty cool how Virgil and Gakpo both scored today while their national team manager Ronald Koeman was watching from the stands! #LIVLUT #Liverpool pic.twitter.com/bOrvwuT70m

Still, his presence at Anfield may be explained by the fact that he is now the manager of the Netherlands national team.

After all, Liverpool’s starting lineup had three Dutch players. Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo were two of them who scored. While, Ryan Gravenberch performed admirably in the centre of the park. What Koeman witnessed must have pleased him.

Additionally, this was not Koeman’s first visit to Anfield in a while. The former manager of Barcelona attended late last month’s Premier League match between Liverpool and Chelsea as well.

The Dutch players at Liverpool are currently playing well. Van Dijk is the captain of the national squad, while Gakpo is one of its key players. But after another strong showing, Gravenberch shouldn’t be pounding on the door either.
