Fabrizio Romano on why Man Utd star’s transfer situation is now “quiet” after another move fell through
Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has discussed the situation regarding Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen, with everything seemingly “quiet” with him and a possible move at the moment.
Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for his latest Daily Briefing column, Romano explained that Eriksen’s potential move to Real Betis ended up being almost impossible, whereas now nothing else is happening with any other clubs.
The Denmark international is surely available for basically anyone who wants him, with Erik ten Hag seeming unlikely to find much of a role for him in his first-team this season.
It remains to be seen if Eriksen’s situation could change soon, but for now Romano seems fairly confident that nothing is concrete or imminent in terms of a potential move away for the former Tottenham man.

Christian Eriksen in action for Manchester United
“Despite rumours, it’s completely quiet now around Christian Eriksen. It was never close with Real Betis; they explored this possibility when Tottenham were not giving the green light for Giovani Lo Celso but then the deal happened and the Eriksen move was almost impossible on both the player and club side,” Romano said.
Eriksen initially played quite an important role for the Red Devils when he first joined on the back of an impressive spell at Brentford, but the 32-year-old is now clearly past his best and a departure would surely be for the best for all involved.
