Fabinho reveals main Leeds quality Liverpool must match on Sunday
Fabinho is already relishing the challenge of facing Leed United this weekend as Liverpool prepare to take on Marcelo Bielsa’s men on Sunday.
The defensive midfielder expects a tough encounter in Yorkshire, although he believes that the famed Elland Road atmosphere could help the Reds. Fabinho does, however, expect the Leeds faithful to demand ‘something more’ from Bielsa’s side.
He told the club’s official website: “Leeds are a really intense team, a really good team. We played there last year without supporters and without fans in it was really tough. It was a tough game, it was 1-1.
“We know their qualities and I think with the fans it will be something more for them. But, as I said, almost all the games are hard and tough in the Premier League. We want to go there and win the game.
“This atmosphere sometimes helps us as well, even if it’s an away game. When the crowd is really participating in the game, this is good for the spectacle, so we like these types of games.”
The Reds head to Leeds having won two and drawn one of their three Premier League outings so far. Jurgen Klopp’s men currently sit fifth in the table, with Bielsa’s men 15th after two draws and a defeat so far.

Klopp turned down signing Germany star
Meanwhile, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp reportedly turned down the chance to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus earlier this summer for two very good reasons.
Following Georginio Wijnaldum’s free transfer exit and subsequent switch to PSG, the Reds were fully expected to sign a replacement for the Dutchman – with Neuhaus strongly tipped to make a move to Merseyside and join up with his fellow countryman Klopp.
But, having only signed Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig over the summer, Liverpool decided against strengthening their engine room. Klopp instead decided to give more chances to injury-hit star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and highly-regarded youngster Harvey Elliott.
And now a report in the Daily Mirror claims that Monchengladbach were keen to offload Neuhaus. Indeed, they offered the Anfield outfit the chance to snap up the 24-year-old.
The report adds that the Reds would have been able to sign Neuhaus for a cut-price figure of £21m. That price was deemed a bargain, given that the player is still under contract until 2024.
The Germany star has made 120 appearances for Monchengladbach in all competitions since 2018. During that time has notched 16 goals and added an impressive 20 assists.
