Edinson Cavani urged to sign for ‘best club in the world’ before it’s too late
Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani has been told now is the perfect time for him to sign for Boca Juniors.
Cavani was rumoured to be heading for the Argentinian giants in the summer. In fact Cavani’s father namechecked Boca as a potential destination at the end of last season.
Luis Cavani, revealed that there was a 60 per cent chance of his son leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season. Moreover, he pointed to Boca as the club he could depart for.
United though managed to persuade the veteran striker to sign a one-year contract extension. So much was Cavani’s impact last season that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was desperate to see the attacker stay.
Since then though Cristiano Ronaldo arrived and assumed the role of centre forward. Up until now Cavani had been sidelined through injury, but he will return to the squad on Saturday.
It will be interesting to see where Cavani fits in with Ronaldo back at United.
There were initially questions asked about Cavani’s future. But Fabrizio Romano last month tweeted Man Utd are “100 percent” committed to keeping the Uruguayan. Furthermore, the player himself is “absolutely not considering” a premature exit.
That did not stop reports from Spain which suggested he was not going to be happy kicking his heels on the Old Trafford sidelines.
And, according to RAC1 reporter Gerard Romero Barcelona were in ‘very advanced negotiations’ with Cavani ahead of deadline-day deal to sign him
According to Mundo Deportivo, via Sport Witness, Barcelona were in the market for a new striker.

‘Boca the best club in the world’
Now though Boca Juniors legend Dario Felman believes Cavani has reached the perfect moment to play for the South American side.
“If Cavani’s dream is to play for ‘Boca Juniors‘ he should go for it because ‘Boca’ is the best club in the world, as far as I’m concerned and on every level,” Felman told Tribal Football.
“It’s the perfect age for him to go. Look at Daniele de Rossi, the Italian player, who achieved his dream of playing for ‘Boca Juniors‘ in the final stage of his career.
“Boca are a very demanding club and the fans are too. If Cavani does go to Argentina, I know he will be going there to give his all. He won’t be there to have his photograph taken with all and sundry, he is Uruguayan!
“He will be giving everything he has got, as always. Cavani has scored decisive goals for Manchester Utd and they ended up high in the table and got to Europa League final too.”
