Conte strikes as Tottenham offer £8.4m-a-year salary to midfield beast
Tottenham have reportedly made a significant contract offer to AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, who wants out of the San Siro.
The Ivory Coast star’s contract runs out at the end of the season, alerting the likes of Spurs, Manchester United and PSG to the possibility of signing the highly-rated midfielder on a free transfer next summer.
And now Sportitalia TV reporter Rudy Galetti has shared some potentially exciting news for Tottenham fans.
He claims that the north London club have tabled a salary offer of around €10million (£8.4m) per season.
That would make Kessie one of Tottenham’s highest-paid players, besting even Son Heung-Min’s current salary.
Whatsmore, a report in the Daily Express claims that Kessie has turned down Milan’s latest contract offer and officially wants out.
The 24-year-old would bring a different dimension to a one-paced Tottenham midfield that lacks creativity.
Kessie scored 13 goals and added four assists in Serie A last season. So far this campaign he has notched three times in 19 games in all competitions.

Kessie in, Ndombele out for Spurs
The dynamic midfielder is reportedly being viewed as a direct replacement for the disappointing Tanguy Ndombele.
The club’s record signing has shown flashes of his undoubted ability since signing from Lyon in 2019. However, he has failed to convince different Tottenham managers that he is worth a regular spot in the side.
Signing Kessie, who has already won 51 caps for his country, would be a huge coup for sporting director Fabio Paratici and boss Antonio Conte. It would also be the first step in upgrading a squad that has gone stale in recent seasons.
