Deal today: Star to fly in to complete Manchester United transfer in next 24 hours

Manchester United and Lecce are reportedly expected to finalise the transfer of Danish left-back Patrick Dorgu today.

The player is then set to fly to Manchester to complete his move to Old Trafford tomorrow, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Dorgu has shone during his time in Serie A and it’s not surprising to see that he now looks set to make a big step up for the next stage of his career.

“I’ll NEVER say sorry!” – which ex-Arsenal star says he was “really p***ed off” with how he was treated before leaving?

The talented 20-year-old looks like he has a big future ahead of him, and his qualities also make him look like he’d be a good fit for Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system that makes use of wing-backs.

Dorgu has the energy to get up and down the pitch, and the quality in the final third to make an impact as an attacking outlet, so it will be interesting to see if he gives Amorim the upgrade he so badly needs on Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

Dorgu looks like a fine addition for this United side, and a good start for Amorim in the transfer market, but there’s surely more needed at Old Trafford.

Amorim has inherited a struggling squad that remains slumped in the bottom half of the table, and it will take plenty of new signings to really give the Portuguese tactician what he needs.

At the moment, there are far too many passengers in this United squad, with a series of poor signings made by Amorim’s predecessor Erik ten Hag.

Antony has recently left to join Real Betis on loan, but MUFC could also surely do better than other misfits like Casemiro, Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho.

Dorgu is a good start, but United fans will perhaps be disappointed that there isn’t more time to get more business done this winter.
