The centre-back showed a lot of potential at RB Leipzig and that prompted Bayern to make a move, but ever since completing the €42.5million transfer, the defender has been very error-prone and has made huge mistakes in some high-profile games.

This has made coaches lose faith in Upamecano and Bayern have brought in several defenders since to try and fix their issues.

According to L’Équipe, the France international could leave the Bavarian club this summer, but it depends on whether Matthijs De Ligt or Kim Min-Jae are sold. The German giants do not want to sell Upamecano as they still have faith in the player and would prefer to part ways with another one of their centre-backs.

With a contract expiring in 2026, the 25-year-old may seek a new challenge himself and is believed to be open to a move to the Premier League. L’Équipe states that several English clubs are interested in the Bayern star but it remains to be seen if they make an official move over the summer months.

Dayot Upamecano to leave Bayern Munich?

Dayot Upamecano is a target for Man United

Man United are one Premier League club in the market for a centre-back this summer and according to reports, Upamencano is on the Red Devils’ list.

This would be a risky signing for a club that cannot afford any mistakes, but it is believed that Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite is their number one target, reports Sky Sports.

It remains to be seen if any other Premier League clubs get linked to the Bayern Munich star over the coming weeks as there is a player inside Upamecano, but it may take a top coach to get it out of him consistently.
