Euro Paper Talk: Deep cut for Rangnick as No 1 target snubs Man Utd offer for rivals; Arsenal agree £25.6m January deal

Manchester United look likely to miss out on ‘top Ralf Rangnick target’ Ousmane Dembele, with the player intent on joining their rivals, Arsenal are closing on an impressive midfield signing, while Wednesday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Liverpool have been offered the chance to sign a Swiss star.

DEMBELE IGNORES MAN UTD – BUT WANTS LONDON MOVE

Ralf Rangick reportedly faces his first disappointment as Manchester United boss, with a report claiming Ousmane Dembele has rejected a move.

The wily German tactician wants to impose a high-energy, high-press system at Old Trafford to bring about a successful new era. As such, he reportedly sees United’s right-hand side as an area of improvement.

Indeed, Diogo Dalot has already been drafted into the side at the expense of Aaron Wan Bissaka.

Now he also wants changes on the right wing, with Dembele targeted in a cut-price deal.

His contract at Barcelona expires in summer 2022 and his refusal to sign an extension means an exit is on the cards.

And with funds tight at the Nou Camp, they are looking to cash in next month as opposed losing the winger on a free.

As such, Rangnick is reported by Mundo Deportivo to have made contact with his agent over a move to Old Trafford.

However, they report that Dembele has ‘no intention’ of moving to United due to the competition in attack.

United competition too strong for Dembele

The player and his representative reportedly fear that a move there would be too stop-start. Furthermore, they doubt whether he could recapture his best form there with Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood and possibly Marcus Rashford seen as right-sided options.

Instead, Mundo Deportivo claims Dembele is instead holding out on a move to Chelsea. Thomas Tuchel is also reportedly a fan of the France star.

Furthermore, with Christian Pulisic likely to depart, Dembele reckons there is an opening for him at Stamford Bridge.

As such, they are reportedly his No 1 preference and he will wait to see if they follow up their initial interest with an approach.
