Priority Tottenham target ignores Arsenal calls, but rules out January exit
Tottenham boss Antonio Conte will have to look elsewhere for a striker in January after Dusan Vlahovic ruled out a move in the winter transfer window.
The highly-rated Fiorentina forward has been linked with a move to Spurs due to the club’s Italian connection. Antonio Conte has linked up with Fabio Paratici at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and a striker is believed to be on their shopping list.
Tottenham are prepared to do what it takes to make the 21-year-old their next acquisition, according to The Sun.
However, Newcastle sent scouts to watch the Serbia striker as they dramatically qualified for the 2022 World Cup at Portugal’s expense last week
Man City have also been mentioned as suitors as they look for a long-term replacement for Sergio Aguero. While Arsenal also have an interest, but according to Rio Ferdinand the player is not interested in the Gunners.
“Arsenal are more than interested, they approached Fiorentina two weeks ago about the price and everything but the player is not interested,” he said on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE.
“I’m told that his agents are not answering Arsenal’s calls.”
Vlahovic’s time in Florence looks to be coming to an end. He has yet to sign a new contact, with his current deal expiring in 2023. Fiorentina know they must sell next summer to get the optimum price – €70m (£58.7m).
Sport Witness, citing reports in the Italian media, suggest Juventus are Spurs’ main rivals for the forward.

Vlahovic aiming for Europe with Viola
But all interested parties will have to wait until the summer of 2022 at the earliest now.
Vlahovic told Telegraf.rs that he is planning to stay in Florence to help the Viola into Europe.
“We are all working hard and want to get back into Europe, because Fiorentina haven’t played in Europe for many years and it’d be a great success for the club,” he said.
“I think this group of players and staff deserves it. And we’ll do our best to achieve some of the objectives we have set for ourselves.
“I have reached a level in football where every little detail counts. So I am very careful with my nutrition and training routine.”
